Access to basic medical healthcare is a universal millennium goal that every State is striving to achieve. This is because, a healthy population is much more productive hence can significantly improve the economy of a state. With this factor in mind, the government has passed regulations to ensure every citizen is in a healthy state of body and mind. This article elucidates on the regulations for improving health and wellness North Carolina.

The government is the principal institution involved with the development of policies to realize this dream. For starters, the state has banned the use of tobacco products. This policy has been effective after recent research has revealed that tobacco is responsible for causing deformities in expectant mothers as well causing lung diseases and bronchitis.

Furthermore, the administration has gone a mile further and introduced an exercise regulation aimed at encouraging its citizens to engage in physical activity as well as promoting good nutrition. A study conducted by a medical team has revealed that majority of the regional residents consume junk foods which are high in sugar, fats and oil. Such foods are medically proven to cause lifestyle diseases such as obesity. Obesity is also responsible for causing hypertension. Participating in physical activity burns excess fat and aids in reducing chances of contracting lifestyle diseases.

Moreover, the government has introduced a workplace regulation that sensitizes workers to use the lunch time hours to engage in physical exercises such as walking instead of driving or riding. Alternatively, they are encouraged to walk on stairs instead of using the elevator. This is done in an effort to promote maintenance of healthy bodies.

Moreover, the state has introduced the consumption of nutritious foods in hotel menus such fruit and vegetable salads in hotels and cafeterias. Not only does consumption of such balanced foods help in smoothening the digestion process but also in lowering levels of cholesterol in the body. The residents are more likely to consume these products once they have been informed on the benefits.

Next is the consumption of nutritious foodstuffs that have low fat and sugar content as well as unprocessed food items in employee celebratory gatherings. As it has been the norm in the past, in which sugary foodstuffs were served, things have changed as low fat foodstuffs are now served.

Furthermore, the administration has also enacted regulations on wise use of healthcare resources as well as benefiting from their use. Screening of diseases has been put in place to encourage citizens to go for checkups and detect any health problems at an early stage and get prompt diagnosis. To even make it easier, specific days have been set aside to perform such screenings for free.

Lastly, the administration has enacted a policy intended to sensitize its citizens on better ways of coping with illnesses they suffer from. This is to reduce chances of infecting other residents. Additionally, the coping mechanism is proven reduce effects of these illnesses, thereby prolonging their lives. To back this initiative, a get in shape program with a robust financial backing has also been enacted to motivate workers to participate in physical activities. Structures to be used for work out activities have been erected at various points within the workplace premise to entice workers to get involved in physical exercises. Prizes are then given to the most consistent employees who act as role models to the other workers.
