The major thing you must understand when you touch your autistic youngster is that you have to do it slowly. So you may want to start out by very gently touching your child's hand or you could very gently place your hand on your autistic kid's shoulder. And if you want to give your little one a hug you will have to do so very gently by gradually bringing yourself in to the position where you would be able to embrace your little one.

Just remember that everything should be very mild and you have to take your time while you're building up to hugging a kid with autism. If you immediately try and provide them with a great big embrace you could expect your child to react very negatively and this will be a really distressing situation in an autistic children's life. It might not work correctly in the beginning but if you keep doing and you observe what your child is comfortable with then you should be able to give your child a hug whenever you want.
