The kidneys are used to rid waste from the body and expel it. Kidneys can get problems if they develop stones or if there is an imbalance of blood pressure. Nearly twenty million people suffer from kidney disease. There are many natural remedies and herbs to reduce and reverse kidney disease. Anything that contributes a good amount of potassium or calcium is very helpful to the kidneys as well. Keeping sodium intake low and potassium high is key.

The consequences can be severe. Although most people with diabetes are likely to have kidney disease, other factors such as genetics, blood pressure and blood sugar control do also play a role. So, the better a person keeps blood pressure and diabetes under control, the lower the chances of kidney disease developing.

Diet You can include certain foods in your diet to assist in building your kidneys. These include: cucumber, adzuki beans, fish, sprouts, seeds, bananas, vegetables, watermelon, and parsley.

Herbal medicine Taking herbs improves your kidneys since the herbs assist in the regeneration and detoxification of the kidney cells. Some main kidney healers are: nettle leaf, parsley, marshmallow, and horsetail. Ensure you take the herbs after consulting your doctor or naturopath particularly if you are taking prescription drugs.

It is therefore important to reduce unhealthy fats, processed or refined flour and alcohol. In addition, getting at least 30 minutes of exercises at least five days a week will help prevent obesity. It does not have to be a high-performance exercise; light jogging, brisk walking or dancing can help prevent diabetes.

If the person in danger of kidney disease has diabetes or high blood pressure, he or she should control conditions associated with kidney disease. Buchu, an herb used to help with the disease, works as a urinary antiseptic. This can be extremely helpful for the health of kidneys.

Baking Soda Studies show that common sodium bicarbonate helps in slowing down the process of chronic kidney disease. The substance achieves this due to its capability to neutralize the acidity of the blood.

Exercising can help with preventing obesity, and diabetes. Eating healthy is a big part in reversing the disease. Health organizations suggest at least thirty minutes of exercise a day, five days a week. Many activities moderate in intensity can help with preventing diabetes, and thus preventing kidney disease.

High blood pressure may cause damage and narrowing of the blood vessels thus affecting the nephrons of the kidneys as well as other organs such as the heart. Blood pressure influences the rate at which the disease progresses; even a slight increase in blood pressure can worsen your kidney disease.
