Is your low back and leg discomfort getting the best of you? Is it preventing you from doing more and more things? Has it gotten to the point now the pain is not manageable in the regular ways?

If your answer to one or all of these questions is yes then it is unsurprising that you have found your way here. Many of us suffer with sciatica so it is vital to know you're not alone in your discomfort and that many others are in the same position as you. The most important thing to do is to fix the problem so you do not start evolving your whole life to accomodate the agony; this is a double edged sword as after you begin to do this you could cope with the discomfort better, but ultimately you are accepting this pain into your life for the foreseeable future.

What should I do to eliminate the discomfort?

There are a bunch of good cures for sciatica but all will change in their particular effectiveness to your special complaint. Because of this it is worth trying several different treatment types to find the one that works delivering results. In terms of fast relief you could find that lying on the floor with your knees up may be useful, you can try experimenting with different positions so that if you get an episode of increased agony you know what position to get into immediately. Painkillers are the most likely prescribed drugs for relief of sciatica; you can just buy them over the counter in shops, chemists and other shops. Painkillers will mask the root cause but they are not engineered to handle the cause and they have additional side effects associated with them so be certain to read these before taking them.

Manual procedures are doubtless the most effective and most used approach for the treating of sciatica. Practitioners have titles such as Osteopath, Chiropractor, Physiotherapist, Massage therapist, Acupuncturist and many others. It is worth checking those near to you, with a solid reputation and affordable charges as sciatica will generally take at least a couple of sessions to treat.
