Positive Traits Of Quality Cavachon Breeders

----------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

Cavachons are in the classification of designer dog, and they are not easy to find or commonly available because they are not easy to create. They can only be bred by mating a Bichon Frise and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - both of pure blood - or two top quality first generation dogs of the breed from completely different bloodlines. The pups can be rather costly so it is in one's best interest to choose only reputable Cavachon breeders with desired traits.

As this is a hybrid breed that is not officially recognized by the AKC, there is no official list of accepted breeding facilities. The best and typically most reliable way to find a supplier is through a referral from others who own Cavachons. There are, however, certain factors that can set one breeder apart from another.

It is important to understand that a breeder's quality can not be determined simply by viewing their website. The most effective way to do this is to personally visit the facility. It provides an individual with the chance to view first hand, the housing conditions of the dogs, what they are fed, how they are bred and socialized, and an opportunity to ask questions.

First begin by verifying that litters are not mass produced and that only one breed is bred at the location. These are common signs of puppy farming which is detrimental to the health and welfare of the dogs. In such circumstances, females tend to be mated too young, too often, and too long.

Prospective owners need to pay attention to the cleanliness of the facility. This means that all waste and feces are removed, that the dogs have proper bedding, are well groomed, healthy, happy, and adequately socialized. They should be provided with ample opportunity and space to play and exercise, and not spend the majority of their time locked in a cage or small confined space.

If the breeder is respectable, they will not hesitate to offer a health guarantee for all pups. Although certain conditions are common in the breed, provisions should be made in case any genetic defects are later discovered. New owners need to make sure to obtain all vet records, particularly concerning procedures such as vaccinations and deworming.

A dedicated breeder will be equally interested in checking out any person interested in purchasing their puppies. They will want to verify the individuals are properly versed in breed expectations, grooming requirements, attention needs, typical health concerns, behavioral characteristics, socialization, spay and neutering, and obedience training. As such factors as children, other pets, and type of housing may affect the pup, these factors will also be discussed.

Before purchasing a puppy, one should request to see the lineage papers of both parents to ensure that the pup comes from quality stock. It is important to know everything possible about a breed before adoption in order to make sure its characteristics are compatible with one's lifestyle. One should not hesitate to ask any questions they may have.
